    Abstract
  • High bottom hole temperature and formation pressure of deep and ultra-deep wells easily give rise to poor cementation of cement sheath caused by fluid channeling. A high density flushing fluid, XM-1 was developed to tackle this problem. In laboratory study, a vegetable gum X-P was used as the suspending agent of the flushing fluid, CTK-1 as the weighting agent, and KZ-1 as the interface strength enhancing additive. XM-1 had good compatibility with oil base drilling fluid, and cleared mud cakes thoroughly. Cementation strengths between cement sheaths were increased by more than 50%.
